Does a substantial amount of staff hours at your laboratory go towards the creation, assembly and management of complex reports like CLP Data Packages, custom reports (i.e. work order processing) or litigation packages?
If so, you're not alone as independent studies indicate labs can spend 20-50% of staff time searching for data and documents and assembling these reports. The process is cumbersome, frustrating and costly requiring substantial time and human resources.
How costly? In the typical U.S. Environmental laboratory each employee consumes 60,000 pages per year. That's $250,000 annually for paper and ink costs alone for a mid sized 60 person laboratory.
Labcore now offers a low cost alternative that is quick, efficient and friendly to the environment. No more paper or time-consuming manual assembly.
Labcore data package generation engine can integrate with virtually any existing LIMS, database, data-mining tool, lab instrument, or ERP system through a standards-based Application Programming Interface (API). Its flexible business workflow engine allows you to trigger events that automatically move these reports through their entire lifecycle. Labcore also automatically collects metadata about the data and documents and stores them in their native file format in an easily searchable repository that ensures data and document integrity through its robust and compliant document control features and audit trail.
"The process of creating, assembling and tracking all data and documents required for a full CLP report is very time consuming and difficult to manage. I believe Labcore offers a unique solution that can seamlessly tie all our lab informatics systems together and rapidly produce and assemble full CLP reports which saves our lab thousands of hours and speeds up the delivery of these reports to our customers" Reddy Paknati, President, A4 Scientific.
How does it work?
Labcore intercepts extracted instrument data, scanned documents, electronic documents, email, LIMS/external database data and associated metadata such as work order numbers and customer numbers. The documents and data are automatically transmitted to the LabCORE Report & Package Manager™ that tracks the documents and data and assembles the specified report when all required documents and data are available. This report can then be delivered by a variety of mediums such as download, email and CD. All documents and data are stored in a central searchable repository under strict document management controls with versioning, audit trails and digital signatures.
Reports and data packages can have a specific customized workflow that controls the assembly and review processes to assure complete and accurate report assembly. Designing custom reports is a matter of configuration of required documents and report structure. Management reports provide the means to track timeliness and completeness of the reports and the data packages. Any number of data packages can be defined in the DPM to meet regulatory or customer requirements. A project or work order manager can select the data package necessary for a particular work order.
The Labcore DPM has tight integration with EISC's R&R Suite which allows the DPM to easily produce the raw data files for a particular purpose by eliminating raw data which is not relevant to a particular customer.
