EPA Purchases Labcore to Improve Laboratory Efficiency, Reduce Paper and Quickly Assemble Data Packages

READING, PENNSYLVANIA, USA, October 3, 2011 – Poplar Solutions, LLC, a leader in web-based document and records management solutions for life science companies and analytical laboratories announced that the U.S. EPA Region 6 Environmental Services Branch (ESB) Laboratory, located in Houston, Texas has chosen to implement its Labcore Scientific Data Management System (SDMS) to automate its laboratory operations including data package assembly and management.

The Environmental Services Branch (ESB) Laboratory serves a critical role in scientific support for Regional Quality Assurance efforts. This includes Quality Assurance oversight of the Region’s Superfund Contract Laboratory Program (CLP). The new Labcore SDMS system will provide a unique solution that will allow the ESB Laboratory to seamlessly tie all lab informatics systems together (including LIMS and Laboratory Instrument integration) and rapidly produce, assemble and store complex data packages, saving the lab from the costs for paper, printing, storage and many hours of manual labor. Labcore will replace the current manual tracking and assembly process to provide a real time view of the status of the data packages.

“We are very enthusiastic about installing our Labcore solution at an EPA laboratory”, states Poplar Solutions President, Mark Ferrero. “The EPA Region 6 ESB Laboratory is very committed to improving its efficiency and moving towards a more paperless operation. Our Labcore solution will enable this EPA laboratory to automate its data collection and workflow to produce error free data packages in a fraction of the time needed using manual processes.
